Governance

The main governance body of the Council is its General Assembly which meets every three years. The General Assembly elects an Executive Board, which is responsible for implementing the decisions of the General Assembly.

The Executive Board consists of six Officers and eight Ordinary Members. The Officers are responsible for the day-to-day affairs of ICSU between meetings of the Executive Board.

Assisting the Board are a number of policy, advisory and ad hoc Committees that address research and policy objectives.
